Landscape Architect, Lee Klopfer’s goal is: environmentally conscious luxury landscape designs made attainable.
Turning yards to courtyards, Klopfer believes a home is an extension of one’s self and that representation extends beyond the interior. Mastering a variety of skills as well as genres, Klopfer excels in the artistic expression of landscape design as a functional installation. Rendering art through the combination of architect and nature, while utilizing color, line, form, texture, composition, shape and use of space, Klopfer elegantly blends earth and structure so that one is an extension of the other.
The resulting works are environmentally conscious designs as a culmination of synthesis between the client’s visions, unique site aspects, architecture and season while incorporating local environmental issues including ecological sustainability, soil and climate conditions, water harvesting and use of xeric plant materials.
However, Klopfer’s work does not end with the sculpting of soil and an enticing array of environmentally sustainable foliage. Self-designed unique sculptures and structures are often incorporated in his work. Embracing the rule of form and function, Klopfer’s sculptural pieces are commonly recognized as planters, fountains, waterfalls, privacy walls, gates and other objects.
Klopfer’s expertise in horticulture and structural art and design give his work a unique edge while his broad array of talents keep his work competitive. Whether the finished work is native to its environment, or has a spiritual, contemporary, classic, or zen essence, each design easily transcends from structure to environment so that the building itself appears to have arisen gracefully from the earth while reflecting the nature and personality of its owner.
With over thirty years of experience, graduating with degrees in Landscape Architecture and photography, Klopfer has completed projects in Texas, Colorado, Utah as well as Northern New Mexico.
A collected knowledge of architectural design, horticulture, environment, and composition through art and photography, as well as experience cultivated from world travels, Lee Klopfer possesses both the vision and skill to integrate clients’ lifestyles with the natural landscape in the form of functional art. Moreover, Klopfer’s creative vision and problem solving skills aid in unique site aspects and architectural styles.
Additionally, Klopfer is an Adobe; Photoshop ‘certified expert’ and has a deep understanding of computer graphics as well as the ability to draw the ‘old fashion way’ – by hand. His techniques allow clear communication with his clients.
